99% of us LOVE a good massage. We love how it feels at the time, we love how we feel afterwards. It give us an opportunity to take time out of our day and just focus on rest and recovery, So why don't we do it more often?
I think there are a few reasons;
Indulgent - I think for some it can feel indulgent to take the time to rest and recover, even when we know that if you aren't resting that your effectiveness goes down whether we are talking about training, professionally, or just every day life.
Scheduling - If you're anything like me, even once I've made the commitment to do something, if it's not in the calendar, then it doesn't happen.
Cost - Adding another expense for people can make it tough to justify taking the time out.
So we asked ourselves, what can we as a studio, do? We know most people would benefit greatly from getting a regular massage, a regular appointment once a month where they get to relax and just focus on themselves.
Introducing the AirSpace Massage Club
We have created the AirSpace Massage Club as a way to help people overcome the obstacles associated with getting a regular massage. At Airspace we recognise the many benefits of regular massage and want to help you prioritise your health and wellbeing. Airspace Massage Club entitles you to a one-hour high-quality massage treatment each month, and a special discounted rate for additional massages.
Let's look a the challenges we outlined above, and see how the Massage Club handles them;
Indulgent - We want to reframe this idea that a regular massage appointment is indulgent. Your health and fitness is important. Maybe THE most important thing in your life. As anyone that has had a life threatening illness, life changing injury, or that listens to Counting Crows will tell you; "you don't know what you've got till it's gone".
If you feel like you're getting burnt out, run down, constantly tired, or niggling injuries aren't going away, it might be a sign you aren't giving yourself enough of a chance to rest, and making time regularly for a massage might be a good way to start to change that. Scheduling - The Massage Club is a commitment to get at least ONE massage a month. You're allowed flexibility when you schedule those in, but we STRONGLY recommend choosing a time and locking it in every month. Once again, if it's not in the calendar it won't get done. We don't want this to be something you don't use, make the commitment to yourself to block out one hour a month to relax.
Cost - We know getting massages can be expensive for some people, and so as a way of encouraging you to commit regularly to yourself, we want to reward you with a discounted price - our massages are usually $120/hour as part of the massage club, you are only paying $99 per month. On top of that if your private health cover offers to rebates for remedial massage, you can claim those too. PLUS any additional massages you book for yourself you can get at the massage club rate of $99/hour.
I know whenever I get a massage I always say to myself, why don't I do this more often? And as I get busier with work and family commitments it becomes harder and harder to prioritise my own health and fitness. If this sounds like you, I urge you to make a change - you won't regret it!
